In the past decade, a few studies have looked at precipitation across the Great Lakes region to see if PFAS would turn up there. Invariable, it has been detected, albeit at very low concentrations. This is concerning because even though the levels are very dilute in rain droplets, it indicates that they can readily concentrate in the environment where they fall.
Cambridge's Matt Buckman commits to Hillsdale College for basketball
Cambridge senior Matt Buckman committed to play college basketball at NCAA Division II Hillsdale College on Tuesday. Buckman, a 6-foot-4 guard/forward, averaged 25.7 points per game last season for the Blue Jays. He added 5.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting 50 percent from the field, 82 percent from the free throw line and 39 percent from 3-point range. Buckman, the 2023-24 Capitol South Player of the Year, enters this season having scored a program-record 1,517 points. Buckman is a three-sport athlete who also quarterbacks the football team and is a multi-year varsity golfer. Hillsdale College, which is located in Hillsdale, MI, went 18-10 last season after three consecutive 20-win campaigns and plays in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

2 cats suffer smoke inhalation in Northville townhome fire
NORTHVILLE, Mich. (FOX 2) - Two cats are being treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at a townhome in Northville. Fire crews responded to The Coves of Northville of Taft near Eight Mile just before 1 a.m. Wednesday for the blaze that started on the second floor of one of the homes. Two cats inside the home where the fire started "were exposed to some heavy smoke," according to Northville Fire Chief Matt Samhat.
