SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - The YMCA of Saginaw is working to help local veterans by offering resources for those who are homeless or struggling with their mental health. July 20th marked their first Veterans Stand Down event. An international automotive supplier is getting state support for a project that will bring a new plant and hundreds of jobs to Chesterfield Township. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation recently announced new incentives for Gestamp, a Spanish company with its North American headquarters founded in Troy. Gestamp North America Inc. is planning expansions at three of its Michigan manufacturing operations in Mason, Lapeer and Chelsea. The new 460,000-square-foot factory on Sierra Drive, near 23 Mile and South Foster roads in Chesterfield Township, will help to further serve new OEM business and expand the company’s presence in the state, the MEDC said.
