Family of mother killed in domestic violence incident working on documentary
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — It's been two years since the death of Akeda Howton. The 40-year-old was shot and killed by the father of her child in the summer of 2022. Akeda would've celebrated her 43rd birthday on August 20. Instead, her family celebrated her through a balloon release to remember her precious life cut short.

ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University women's soccer team began its season with a definitive, 7-0 win over visiting Hilbert College on Friday evening from Yunevich Stadium. The Saxons (1-0, 0-0 Empire 8) scored the most goals in a home-opener since 2014's 7-1 win over SUNY Canton. It is also the largest margin of victory in over 20 years of home-openers.
