Strawbery Banke's Vintage & Vine Wine Festival moves to Thursday, Sept. 12
PORTSMOUTH — Strawbery Banke Museum recently announced that Vintage & Vine – A Wine Festival in Historic Style will be moving to Thursday, Sept. 12. The event, now in its 36th year, has previously occurred on the second Saturday in September. The Vintage & Vine event committee has moved the event to a new date, creating additional opportunities for participation and ensuring the availability of key restaurant and wine partners.

Massive Halloween Event Returning to Downtown Augusta, Maine

High (altitude) school: Grant helps North Country students rebuild and fly an airplane
Students at a high school aviation program in North Conway are getting the chance to rebuild a defunct plane — and put it back in the air. The Mount Washington Valley Career and Technical Center in North Conway, New Hampshire and the Eastern Slope Aviation Academy in Fryeburg, Maine have received a $500,000 federal grant to fund the project. Over the next two years, that money will pay for the supplies, curriculum and instruction to help the students rehabilitate a 1971 Grumman American aircraft donated to the school.

Sununu signs bill to provide voting law information to NH students
New Hampshire public and private high schools will soon be required to give voting information to students, under a law signed by Gov. Chris Sununu this month. House Bill 1014 requires that civics instruction “include information on the laws governing election and voting” in New Hampshire. That information would supplement what is currently required to be taught in schools for history and civics, including the structures of the New Hampshire Constitution and U.S. Constitution, and the role and function of government.
