August 29, 1934 to June 14, 2024 - Lillie Mae, "Janie", Camp (née Foster), aged 89, passed away at her home in Sandy, surrounded by family on June 14, 2024. Janie was born on August 29, 1934, in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to Floyd and Elenora Foster.

After marrying in 1952 she and her husband Bill moved their growing family to Oregon in 1958, making their home near Bill’s aunt and uncle in the Boring area. Janie moved through life with a nurturing spirit and a welcoming heart, treating everyone she met as family.

Janie's career spanned various roles where she touched many lives; she worked for many years as a medical records specialist, and a nurse's assistant. After retiring she was a chef at a hunting lodge in Buffalo, Wyoming each fall and ran a catering business for several years with her best friend Judy. Her love for caring for others extended into her volunteer work at local organizations, including the Senior Center in Sandy.

A master of the kitchen, Janie was renowned for her chocolate pie, banana pudding, moon pies, banana nut and hummingbird cakes, as well as numerous other dishes that will live on through her grandchildren. Her hobbies also included cooking for family, friends and many Church events, and she enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking and traveling with her beloved husband, Bill, family and many friends. She always made a point of and truly enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s many sporting events.

Janie was a long-time member of Arise Christian Fellowship, (formerly Sandy Baptist Church), where she spread the same energy, warmth and kindness found in her own home and kitchen.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Ray Camp; sons Bill (Lori), John, Jim (Susan), Cody (Shelly), and Randy Camp; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and was preceded in death by her first son Leonard Ray, and her 6 brothers.

A service to celebrate Janie's life will be held at Arise Family Fellowship, 34435 Jarl Road, Boring, OR Saturday 7/27/24 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Signature Healthcare at Home, honoring Janie's compassionate spirit.
