Early bird tickets are on sale for the Sandy Springs Wine Festival that will be held on Oct. 6 on the Heritage Entertainment Lawn.

The Reserve Tasting will be from 2-3 p.m. and feature unique, exquisite wines from local cellars, many acquired through limited winery club memberships. The General Tasting follows from 3-5 p.m. with more than 175 sommelier-curated wines provided by Georgia-based distributors and distinguished wineries with local representation.

Early-bird tickets for the General Tasting are on sale for $75 (plus fees) until Aug. 15.

A limited number of tickets for the Reserve Tasting are available for $150 (plus fees). Reserve tickets sold out quickly last year.  A portion of the proceeds go to Solidarity Sandy Springs, a nonprofit organization that serves 700 families weekly who experience food insecurity.

“The Reserve Tasting offers attendees the opportunity to join fellow wine lovers to taste some highly rated and very special wines while supporting a worthy Sandy Springs charitable cause,” Committee Member Don Nelson said, according to the release.

Reserve Tasting wines will mostly exceed $75/bottle.  They will include: 2016 Valdicava di Montalcino, 2016 Altamura Negroamaro, 2015 Garrison Creek Malbec, Joseph Phelps Insignia, Quintessa Cabernet, Belle Glos Taylor Lane, Groth Cabernet, Château Leoville Barton, and Far Niente Chardonnay. Some select Reserve wines may be available for order and purchase at a discount.

The General Tasting will feature wines which are not typically found in the marketplace. Tastings include major wine-growing regions and varietals from around the world, including Argentina, California, Chile, France, Italy, Oregon, Spain, Washington State, and more. General Tasting wines may also be available for order and purchase at a discount.

A full list of wines can be found on the Sandy Springs Wine Festival website.

All attendees will receive a souvenir festival logo Riedel wine glass. Local restaurants will provide an assortment of light bites to accompany the fine wines.

The Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber and in-kind partners Visit Sandy Springs and the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center are presenters the wine festival.

Only 400 tickets will be sold for the Sandy Springs Wine. Attendees must be 21+ years old and present an ID at the door
