NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The Taxation and Revenue Department has expanded the filing extensions it has made available for taxpayers affected by the fires in the Ruidoso area. People affected by the fire who had returns with normal due dates of June 25, 2024, and July 25, 2024, can now file on September 25, 2024, according to a news release.

‘Youth artisans of the future’ to be at Native American Artisans Portal Summer Youth Show
Supporting the talents of next-generation Native American artists is a goal of the New Mexico History Museum. This year, the museum is hosting the Native American Artisans Portal Summer Youth Show, fostering the development of young artists who are descendants of current Native American artisans. The show also aims to celebrate the importance of the continued traditions of Native American artistry.
Plenty of beds at Albuquerque Homeless shelter
Recently the Albuquerque Journal had an article discussing the need for a new contractor at the West Side homeless shelter. The article included one noteworthy line which we have highlighted below. According to it on June 20, 2024 the West Side shelter had 170 open beds. Now, thanks to a recent US Supreme Court decision cities are confirmed nationwide to be allowed to clear “homeless” off public rights-of-way and parks and other public spaces.
