    UPDATE: Forward Progress Halted On The Plenty Fire In Saugus

    UPDATE: Forward progress of the Plenty Fire in Saugus has been halted at just over 75 acres.

    The brush Fire, dubbed the Plenty Fire, was first reported around 3:50 p.m. Friday, near Copper Hill Drive and Haskel Canyon, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department officials.

    UPDATE (6:30 pm): The Plenty Fire is at 76.6 acres with forward progression of the fire stopped, according to Jeremy Stafford, a dispatch supervisor with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

    UPDATE (6:05 pm): At least five firefighters have suffered heat exhaustion and are being treated. The fire is now at 65 acres.

    UPDATE (5:20 pm(: The Plenty Fire is now at 45 acres, according to Fire officials.

    UPDATE (5 pm): A firefighter has been transported to the hospital due to heat exhaustion.

    UPDATE (4:55 pm): SCV Sheriff’s have confirmed there are no evacuations in place due to the Plenty Fire.

    UPDATE (4:30 pm): The Plenty Fire is now at 40 acres, and LACoFD officials have upgraded the fire to a second alarm response bringing additional equipment to aid in the fire fight.

    There was a fully involved vehicle fire that spread to the nearby brush, according to initial radio traffic.

    As of 4 p.m. the Plenty Fire is at one acre with no structures threatened.
