The Persian Grill & Cafe Now Open In Newhall

A longtime local business-owner has recently opened a new brick-and-mortar Persian restaurant location in Newhall after years of being only a dine-out and catering company.

The former owner of Slater’s 50/50 recently opened The Persian Grill & Cafe in Newhall after almost 20 years in the restaurant business.

“We have 20 years of experience making authentic Persian food,” said Homayoun Daryani, owner of Persian Grill & Cafe.

In 2006, Daryani opened his popular restaurant Persia Lounge in Saugus. In 2013, he opened a second location on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, which he closed in 2019 in favor of a catering-only business.

In 2020, Daryani opened the famous burger joint Slater’s 50/50 at the Valencia Town Center, but made sure to keep the catering for his Persian Cuisine still available for local events.

When Slater’s 50/50 closed down , Daryani decided to open up the Persian Grill & Cafe at a more permanent spot with more indoor dining for guests to enjoy.

“It’s been great, all of my old customers are the reason why I decided to not only do dine-out and catering service but also dine-in and have a place for them,” Daryani said.

The new Persian Restaurant on Lyons Avenue also offers catering for events and aims to make your next event special with savory Persian cuisine.

Guests can enjoy a plethora of items on the menu, such as Cornish chicken kabob and chicken koobideh wrap, and then try rosewater ice cream for dessert.

The Persian Restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and is located at 23502 Lyons Avenue #204 in Newhall.
