Hosts: Barbara Cochran & Dr. Thomas Polucki
Guests: Sus Ann Nelsen, Myles McNamara
On today’s Senior Hour, your hosts Barbara and Dr. Polucki welcome to the studio Sus Ann Nelson, Chief Program Officer at the Senior Center. Sus Ann and the hosts talk about the many offerings that the Senior Center has for our local senior citizens. Specifically, care giver support groups are there to give resources and an outlet to those caring for a spouse, or grieving the loss of a loved one. The Senior Center also features daily meals, Bingo games, exercise classes as well as musical acts and group trips. Volunteers and non-perishable donations are greatly needed right now. Call 661-259-9444.
In the second half of the show, Myles McNamara of Comfort Keepers In-Home Care joins in studio. Comfort Keepers In-Home Care is here to offer assistance to those giving care to an elderly relative. Their focus is to visit with the elder, offer simple care such as medication schedules, cleaning, basic safety and personal hygiene. With a four-hour minimum and offering more if needed, the Care Management team serves as a respite for those caring for the aging adult. Call 661-287-4200.
The Senior Hour is sponsored by Providence Holy Cross Medical Center and Comfort Keepers In-Home Care.
