Another weekend with triple-digit temperatures is expected for the Santa Clarita Valley.

Beginning Friday, temperatures are expected to be around 100 degrees lasting through Tuesday, before conditions start to slowly cool down, according to officials with the National Weather Service (NWS).

“A long-duration heat wave is expected to last into at least this weekend, especially across the interior,” NWS officials said. “Heat stroke deaths of kids and pets in parked cars are preventable! Look Before You Lock!”

With hot conditions forecasted, officials are warning the public to be “Weather-Ready” to avoid getting heat-related illnesses.

“Avoid overexertion and stay hydrated. Heat stroke can occur even during moderate heat,” NWS officials said. “Never leave people or pets in a vehicle. Hot car deaths occur year-round. Assist those who are at higher risk for heat-related illness, including children, pregnant people, and other adults.”
