Santa Clarita Ranked Among Top 10 Worst Cities For Dog Park For Second Year In A Row

A recent study done by LawnStarter found that Santa Clarita was ranked in the top 10 worst cities for dog parks.

LawnStarter compared a little over 100 of the biggest U.S. cities based on access, quality and climate.

Their method of determining used an assigned weighting system  to each factor based on its importance and grouped those factors into three categories of access, quality, and climate.

A list of each category and their different criteria:

• Average number of cold/hot days
• Average monthly precipitation
• Average monthly percentage of sunshine
• Average number of reviews per dog park
• Average consumer rating for dog parks

Santa Clarita currently has three off-leash dog parks which are Canyon Country dog park, Five Knolls located in Golden Valley and Central Park Dog Park.

To get deeper into finding whose parks are the best, LawnStarter factored in the number of dog parks per 100,000 two-legged residents, visitor ratings, and historical weather data, among eight total metrics.
