Brush Fire Temporarily Shuts Down 14 Freeway

A brush fire broke out near the 14 Freeway northeast of Santa Clarita Sunday afternoon.

The brush fire , named the Bryson Fire, was reported at about 1:20 p.m. Sunday near Agua Dulce Canyon Road, according to officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department .

All lanes of the 14 Freeway were temporarily shut down for one hour to allow for fire helicopters to drop off crew and equipment, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) logs.

As of 1:42 p.m. Sunday, the Bryson Fire was approximately 5 acres in size with potential for growth.

UPDATE: The Bryson Fire was brought under control and resized to approximately 3 acres, the 14 Freeway has been reopened.
