New Valencia Farmers Market To Host Grand Opening Next Month

A new certified farmers market is hosting its Grand Opening in Valencia next month, featuring fresh meats and produce sourced directly from local farms.

The Valencia Farmer’s Market is set to hold its Grand Opening at the main entry of the Fivepoint Valencia community at the corner of Magic Mountain Parkway and Navigation Avenue on Sunday, August 4, according to organizers.

Managed by California Direct Markets, the minds behind the popular Old Town Newhall Farmers Market on Saturdays and the Canyon Country Farmers Market on Wednesdays, the new Valencia Farmer’s Market hopes to continue their tradition of quality.

“We are thrilled to launch this new venue and expand local choices for food and freshly harvested produce within Valencia,” said Larry McClements, market manager at California Farm Direct Markets. “It is an opportunity to celebrate the area’s agricultural history and the important role that local farmers play in meeting a growing demand for fresh and healthy food.”

McClements began selling produce for a farmer at the Newhall Farmers Market on Saturdays and took over operations at Newhall Farmers Market in 2019. He intends to oversee operations at the Valencia by FivePoint market location as well.

“The Valencia Farmers Market presents a great opportunity for the community members and visitors to connect and enjoy delicious food, while also supporting the local farming community,” said Don Kimball, executive vice president at FivePoint.

The Grand Opening of the Valencia Farmer’s Market is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, August 4, with plans for a ribbon cutting at 8:30 a.m., according to officials.

The new Valencia market is a Certified Farmers Market licensed by the California Department of Food and Agriculture and LA County Agriculture.
