Natalia Grossman , a 23-year-old athlete from Santa Cruz, California, is making waves in the world of sport climbing. Born on June 22, 2001, Grossman has been climbing since the age of six and has quickly risen to become one of the leading competitors in bouldering, a discipline of sport climbing. She won her first world championship in 2021 at the age of 20 and has also excelled in lead climbing and speed events.

Grossman's journey into climbing began when she spotted the Pacific Edge climbing gym in her neighborhood at the age of four. Although she had to wait until she was six to start due to age restrictions, she quickly excelled in the sport and joined the youth competition team, Zero Gravity. At 15, her family moved to Boulder, Colorado, so she could join the elite climbing group, Team ABC.

Grossman graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2022, majoring in psychology with a minor in business. Her professional climbing debut came in 2021 when she competed in the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) Climbing World Cup series. She won a gold medal for bouldering in her second World Cup event and went on to win the gold medal at the 2021 Bouldering World Championships, becoming the first American female to capture a world title in climbing since 1995.

In 2023, Grossman delivered a stellar performance at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, where she won the gold medal in bouldering and lead combined final, securing her spot on Team USA for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
