Woll’s death immediately raised speculation about whether it was some type of antisemitic retaliation amid the Israel-Hamas war, though police found no connection.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — Two boys died when the SUV they were in crashed and ended up in a small pond along the side of a highway in North Dakota. The driver and five other children were injured in the one-vehicle accident that happened just before 5 p.m. Monday on Interstate 94 near Jamestown. The North Dakota Highway Patrol said in a news release that a woman driving a 1997 Chevrolet Suburban lost control after being passed by a semi. The vehicle left the roadway and overturned, coming to a rest on its side in the pond, patrol Sgt. Jon Skalicky said. Two boys, ages 7 and 10, were pronounced dead at the scene. Skalicky said everyone else was able to get out of the water except the boys who died. A passerby helped get the kids to safety, Skalicky said.

Many return to street encampments when their time in the pallet shelter runs out, Jessica Prosser, homeless services director for the city, said. Then, the city sweeps the encampment again, and they get to come back to the shelter for another 30 days, Prosser explained. This process can repeat multiple times.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho inmate who slipped out of state custody at a Boise hospital after the corrections officers guarding him were violently attacked is expected to be sentenced for escape Friday morning. Skylar Meade pleaded guilty to escape and to sentencing enhancement for being a persistent violator and for causing bodily injury during the crime earlier this year. He faces up to life in prison when he is sentenced by 4th District Judge Nancy Baskin.  The case began in the early morning hours of March 20 after the Idaho Department of Correction brought Meade to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center for treatment of self-inflicted injuries. As correctional officers prepared to take Meade back to the prison around 2 a.m., an accomplice outside the hospital began shooting, prosecutors say.  Nicholas Umphenour shot two of the correctional officers, prosecutors say.
