247Sports includes trio of Gators in top-50 transfers list
Bringing in a strong transfer portal haul is necessary for most college football teams these days, and Billy Napier has the Floride Gators poised to bring in one of the nation’s best transfer classes in 2024. Three of Florida’s new players made 247Sports’ recent list of the top 50 transfers heading into 2024, but the Gators also lost a considerable amount of talent to the portal. Former USC Trojan Jason Zandamela is the highest-ranked of the trio at No. 7, followed by former Colorado cornerback Cormani McClain (No. 21) and former Penn defensive lineman Joey Slackman (No. 49). Zandamela should compete for a...
Florida coach Billy Napier and two co-defendants ask court to dismiss Jaden Rashada lawsuit
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida coach Billy Napier and two co-defendants on Tuesday filed motions to dismiss quarterback Jaden Rashada’s lawsuit regarding a failed name, image and likeness deal worth nearly $14 million. Napier, Florida booster/automotive technology businessman Hugh Hathcock and Marcus Castro-Walker, the program’s former director of player engagement, asked a U.S. District Court in Pensacola to dismiss the complaint. Napier’s attorney, Hank Coxe III of the Bedell Firm in Jacksonville, argued in a 29-page response that facts are “sorely lacking from the complaint.” “Nothing alleged in the complaint supports the notion that Napier participated in any wrongdoing,” Coxe wrote. “Nowhere does the complaint adequately allege, for example, that Napier knew about whatever occurred between Rashada, his ‘NIL agents’ and the Gator Collective, LLC.

Only the Gators and Nittany Lions have gotten him on in town for an official visit. He recently announced plans to return to Gainesville at the end of the month for the Grille in the ‘Ville event to close out the summer recruiting period. All signs point to the Orange and Blue here, but Gators fans know by now...

They are seen as keystone species that are vital to the health of their ecosystems, and their burrows provide shelter for an estimated 350 other species.
Three Gators named to Cape Code League All-Star Team
A trio of Florida Gators are tearing it up across the nation’s most prestigious wood-bat summer league. Infielder Cade Kurland, catcher/designated hitter and right-handed pitcher Jake Clemente were named to the 2024 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star East Division team over the weekend. The game will take place at Guv Fuller Field, home of the Falmouth Commodores, on July 27.’ Donay and Kurland are starters at first and second base, respectively. Both Clemente and Donay are coming off Player of the Week performances. Clemente threw seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit as he improved his earned run average to 1.93. Donay homered twice last week and slashed .467/.529/.933 to earn the award. Kurland has held a steady .264/.346/.347 slash line in the wood-bat league.
