Flash flood warning includes Rio Rancho
RIO RANCHO, N.M. — A flash flood warning is issued for south central Sandoval County. The area does include Rio Rancho. Flash flooding is possible in small creeks and streams, on some roadways and low-lying areas, according to National Weather Service. The warning is set to continue until 9:45 p.m. Thursday, July 18.

Las Cruces police seek volunteers for Victims Advocate Team
The Las Cruces Police Department has put out a call for volunteers for the Victims Advocate Team, part of the LCPD’s Victims Assistance Unit. The Victims Advocate Team works with professional advocates, police officers and detectives to assist victims of crime, the department explained in a news release. Those interested in a law enforcement career, victims’ advocacy or experience related to criminal justice or social work were encouraged to apply.

Another Mexican gray wolf is captured, released after she strays north of I-40 in Arizona
Another Mexican gray wolf has strayed from the designated recovery area for the endangered species, according to wildlife agencies. A female wolf, known as Mexican wolf F2979, was captured by USDA-APHIS Wildlife Services last week northwest of Flagstaff. After performing a health check and giving the wolf a radio collar to track her movements, wolf managers released the animal back into the wild.
