Arcadia council approves condo development, tree removal
The Arcadia City Council voted 3-2 on Thursday to move forward a large condominium development at 314-326 S. Second Ave., a few blocks south of Huntington Drive. The three-story, 33-foot complex housing 16 units on about 59,440 square feet received Planning Commission approval earlier this year. The complex’s 16 units will range from 2,305-3,207 square feet with four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.

Man arrested for "cabjacking" in Santa Barbara
You’ve heard of carjackings. Well, police in Santa Barbara say they’ve solved a cabjacking. Just after 1 a.m. Friday, a taxicab driver picked up a man in downtown Santa Barbara. Electriq Power’s Inventory Auctioned Off for $4.9M
In the unfolding bankruptcy of Electriq Power Inc., a company that put solar panels on Santa Barbara rooftops for free, a sale of the company’s inventory stored in a San Leandro warehouse netted $4.9 million, excluding litigation claims, bankruptcy trustee Robert Furr said in an email this week. The sale represents about 7 cents on the dollar given that the original bankruptcy filing on May 3 indicated Electriq’s creditors were owed about $70 million.
