Santa Rosa: Man Arrested For Allegedly Possessing Firearm

A 22-year-old man who was among a group of people drinking at a park in Santa Rosa Thursday night was arrested for allegedly possessing a firearm.

Police said they received a call around 7:10 p.m. from a community member about people drinking at Bicentennial Park. The caller said they were concerned because children were playing near the same area.

An officer at the scene said they saw several people near a bench on Hardies Lane and Ditty Avenue allegedly drinking, which was a violation of the Santa Rosa City Ordinance.

As the officer approached the group of people, he allegedly noticed one person in the group concealing an object inside of the waistband of his pants.

When the officer asked the man what was being hidden the man, identified as Santa Rosa man Marco Antonio Flores, became nervous and tense, according to the officer.

Ultimately, the officer allegedly learned that Flores was in possession of a firearm.

Flores was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail for allegedly carrying a loaded semi-automatic handgun.
