( KRON ) — A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a Santa Rosa motorcycle crash that occurred early Friday morning.

The Santa Rosa Police Department said police, fire, and medical personnel were all dispatched to Fountaingrove and Parkway Hill Road at about 6:18 a.m.

Witnesses reported that the motorcycle was heading west on Fountaingrove and had just passed Parker Hill when the driver lost control of the motorcycle.

“The motorcycle hit the curb and flipped multiple times, ending up on the north side of Fountaingrove near the sidewalk,” Santa Rosa police was told.

Crews arrived to find a man lying by the motorcycle with visible damage. Police said he was unresponsive. He was then “immediately” taken to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

An SRPD collision investigator then arrived on the scene and took over the investigation. Evidence technicians also responded.

Initial reports indicate the driver may have been driving “erratically” prior to the collision. The speed to which he was traveling wasn’t shared.

Fountaingrove remained open during the investigation.

The driver’s identity wasn’t identified, but police said he was an adult male who remains in critical condition at the hospital as of the sharing of this report.
