As summer continues, bugs and insects are becoming more active. But with the influx of mosquitos, the West Nile Virus is spreading in North Texas. Denton County recently reported the first positive human case of the West Nile Virus in 2024. According to Denton County Public Health, the community member lives in Sanger and was diagnosed with West Nile Virus Neuroinvasive Disease. So far this year, 25 mosquito traps used in Denton County to monitor the virus have tested positive. Greg Abbott announces over $95 million in housing tax credits across Texas
TEMPLE, Texas — The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) has awarded more than $95 million in housing tax credits to help "finance the development or rehabilitation of more than 60 rental properties, offering reduced rents and increased housing options for Texans throughout the state," Governor Greg Abbott announced on Thursday, July 25.
