TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Heavy downpours over Sarasota & Manatee counties prompted a Flood Advisory through 7:30 this evening, the areas saw between 2.5 and 3.5 inches of rain, and could see another 1-2 inches of additional rainfall.

We’ll have a similar pattern through the weekend with morning sunshine and a round of scattered afternoon storms. Highs stay in the low-mid 90s.

In fact, this classic summer weather pattern continues for most of next week as well.

Hurricane Beryl is lashing the Yucatan Peninsula today with winds of 110 mph.

Once the system enters the Gulf of Mexico this weekend, it gradually strengthens again and may bring high wind and storm surge to the Texas coastline early next week.
