CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Happy Monday! A Heat Advisory will remain in effect throughout today and tomorrow. Heat index values range from 100 to 110. Tomorrow will be another very hot and humid day before we start to see relief on Wednesday. A cold front arriving late tomorrow will bring a few strong thunderstorms, along with heavy downpours during tomorrow afternoon and evening. Activity will increase overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday morning. Scattered storms will continue Wednesday afternoon before we see the cooler drier air Thursday!

EASTERN ILLINOIS (WTWO,WAWV)– Over the rest of the month of July Eastern Illinois will play host to a numerous amount of 4-H showcases. Clark, Edgar, and Crawford counties all are having 4-H fairs over the coming weeks allowing all their members a chance to show their hard work on the projects they’ve been spending time on. 4-H members have been working on their projects in several fields from dealing with livestock of all shapes and sizes to clothing and textiles, and more. Tornado Warnings Around the Tri-Counties Illinois
A Radar indicated tornado warning has been issued for parts of Rock Island, Mercer, Whiteside and Henry Counties. The warning is currently from the Quad Cities to Atkinson but the warning is expected to extend southeast. VERY strong winds have been confirmed with these storms. Funnel clouds have been spotted but any possible spin-up may be rain-wrapped. Stay alert and keep a device with you to stay up-to-date with warnings.
