Mosquito Spraying Rescheduled to Tuesday this Week
In light of the upcoming 4th of July festivities, barbecues, and gatherings, the City of Lander will adjust its regular mosquito spraying schedule. Instead of the usual Wednesday night, spraying will occur on Tuesday, July 2, this week. Next week, the spraying will revert to the normal Wednesday night schedule.
Frost’s winning ways continue at Cody
CODY, Wyo. — Josh Frost has his sights set on winning and that is just what he did at the Cody/Yellowstone Xtreme Bulls. Frost showed up at Stampede Park third in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association world standings. He scored 89 points on Frontier Rodeo’s bull named Stranger Danger in front of a sold-out crowd. That added $12,902 to his season earnings and should help him in the standings.

A relative of a 34-year-old man accused of shooting several people in Aurora says she is "shocked, but not surprised" to hear of the charges. Record Warmth for Wyoming in June
Cheyenne, WY (National Weather Service) July 2nd, 2024 — June was a pretty warm month across our area! In fact, Cheyenne and Laramie both set the record for the warmest average temperature in the month of June this year. The previous record for Cheyenne was from 2006, and the previous record for Laramie was in 2012. Rawlins ended up with the second warmest June on record, after 1988. Scottsbluff ended up with the 8th hottest June on record. The all time hottest June there was also in 2012. Due to the somewhat frequent intrusions of cooler/moister air from the east last month, Chadron and Alliance ended with above normal temperatures for June, but not in the top 10.

AUSTIN, Texas — A Texas 10 Most Wanted sex offender is back in custody following his recent arrest in Wyoming, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).Authorities arrested Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender Ramiro Manuel Dominguez, 35, on June 27 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Dominguez, who was DPS Featured Fugitive in June 2024, was apprehended after DPS Special Agents from Lubbock coordinated with officers from the Cheyenne Police Department, following a tip received last month.
