Coach Bill King honored as outstanding citizen
VIRGINIA—Bill King, known to many for his years of coaching winning basketball teams at Orr High School, is now reflecting on his being selected as Outstanding Citizen of St. Louis County. “It’s a distinct honor to get the award because I dedicated my whole life to betterment of the Nett Lake reservation and all the people of the reservation. EVENING STORMS END... MORE SPOTTY STORMS SUNDAY
As expected, scattered storms dropped into northern Wisconsin from Upper Michigan earlier Saturday afternoon. No severe weather is expected but there could be some locally heavy rainfall and small hail. Storms should begin to fade after sunset. Lows tonight could be as cool as the mid 50s in the Northwoods, but low/mid 60s are expected farther south. Sunday begins dry, but more spotty afternoon storms could develop. The best chance of a storm on Sunday looks to be west and southwest of Green Bay during the afternoon & evening. Highs should be near 80 degrees.
‘Birds and Blooms’ set July 27
The public is invited to Eveleth-Fayal Garden Club’s “Birds and Blooms” Flower Show on Saturday, July 27, at the Fayal Town Hall, 4375 Shady Lane, Eveleth. Entries will be accepted on Friday, July 26, 4-6:30 p.m. and Saturday morning 9:30-10:30 a.m. Exhibitors do not have to be garden club members. There will be a special category for young gardeners.
