Construction Begins at Raising Cane’s Saugus Location, Medford Opening Set for August

Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers has officially begun construction at 799 Broadway in Saugus .

According to a Facebook post from Boston’s Wicked North Shore, “the longtime local shortcut between Forest Street and the edge of the Hilltop property is now gone,” and the site has been fenced in. The new restaurant will feature its own borders and curbing, as well as a drive-thru that wraps around the building.

Late last year, the Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to approve a special permit for the fast-casual franchise. During the discussions, Raising Cane’s Senior Property Development Manager Adam Caracci provided an overview of the company’s management and guaranteed that all speakers and lights would be directed away from neighboring properties to avoid light and noise pollution, reported The Daily Item .

Caracci stated, “It’s a fairly simple, refined, and focused concept. We’re a high-quality chicken finger chain. We only sell one thing, and as a result, we can run a fast and efficient drive-thru operation. We’re fairly certain we can push people through in just under three minutes.”

Raising Cane’s boasts over 700 restaurants nationwide, with a few located in Greater Boston and another set to open at 519 Riverside Ave in Medford on August 20, 2024. Founded in 1996, the Baton Rouge-based chicken chain is known for its hand-battered marinated chicken fingers, Texas toast, crinkle-cut fries, and signature dipping sauce.

Caracci said that the Saugus restaurant is slated to open this fall, in October or November of 2024.
