Wisconsin has seen far fewer air quality advisories this summer compared to last year
(WLUK) -- Most sunny days in Northeast Wisconsin have clear blue skies, or maybe some clouds here and there. But sometimes there's a hint of haze. That's because of wildfires in Western Canada. However, this summer, the fires have not impacted our air quality as much as in the past.

Board OKs membership with School District Consortium
The Verona Area School District (VASD) Board of Education voted to join the Greater Dane County School District Consortium (GDCSDC) on Monday, July 22. Board members Jennifer Murphy, John Porco and Superintendent Tremayne Clardy attended a GDCSDC meeting in May, where a group of greater Dane County school districts are looking to collaborate on shared visions. The GDCSDC mission statement reads as follows:
#2 Madison Sweeps Doubleheader and Takes Series Against #1 Mankato
Thursday’s Northwoods League slate featured a doubleheader between the #1 Mankato Habaneros and the #2 Madison Night Mares. The Madison Night Mares lit up the scoreboard early scoring six runs in the second to help run up the score on the Mankato Habaneros 12-6. Mia Johnson (University of Wisconsin-Parkside) went 2-for-4 scoring once with a double and two RBI. Hilary Blomberg (University of Wisconsin-Madison) went 2-for-5 scoring once with a double, one stolen base, and one RBI. Addie Blomberg (South Dakota State University) went 2-for-3 scoring once with one RBI and two stolen bases. Haley Remington (University of Wisconsin-Parkside) went 3-for-5 scoring twice with two RBI and one stolen base. Brooke Holmes (St. Cloud State University) went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Jessa Snippes (University of Minnesota) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Andrea Jaskowiak (University of Iowa) earned the win throwing five innings with three strikeouts allowing seven hits, four runs, and four walks.

Sky Carp drop second straight game against Wisconsin
BELOIT, Ill. (WIFR) - The Sky Carp fell 4.5 games out of first place after their second straight loss to Wisconsin on Thursday night. Beloit got on the board first off a Cameron Barstad single in the bottom of the second inning. Council approves TID 11 plans
The City of Verona Common Council unanimously approved the creation of Tax Incremental District (TID) 11 at its Monday, July 22 meeting. Located to the north and west of Epic Systems’ existing campus, TID 11 will fund public infrastructure projects and road improvements that support Epic’s growth. The city is estimated to pay approximately $34.9 million in overall project costs.
