Reed Gold Mine - The Historic gold sites in the United States!!

Reed Gold Mine is a state historic site that belongs to the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. It is open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday. The tour timings are from 9:00 am-5:00 pm.

Children are encouraged to cover their faces while participating in group services. The visitor center, orientation film, underground mine, and walking trails are available with no restrictions. The planning area still has a limited capacity of 40 people per session, with seven sessions available every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

There is no general admission to the site. The underground mine is open for self-guided tours only. The visitor center features exhibits on gold, the geology of gold, mining technology, and equipment. It also has many trails, mining areas, and archaeological sites.

Trail maps are available in the visitor center. A small gift shop features souvenirs related to gold, mining, and jewelry.
