La Caseta, a food stall serving Latin cuisine, is expanding its branch to Montford Drive. La Caseta, which opened last year, serves Latin food from El Salvador, Mexico, Venezuela, and Argentina.

One of the homemade Salvadorian street-style dishes is a thick corn tortilla stuffed with cheese and refried beans, curtido slaw, and warm tomato sauce called Pupusas. You can enjoy Pupusas on Friday and Saturday nights in the neighborhood with other families with music and dancing.

The restaurant features Taco Al Pastor, Taco de Asada, Pupusa de Frijoles, Pupusa Revueltas, Arepa Reina Pepiada, Arepa Rumbera, Empanada de Carne. Growing up in El Salvador & Dominican Republic, the owners Miriam and Dalton Espaillat knew street food to be how their communities came together.

Their mothers cook together with others in preparing traditional food, all made by hand. The main motive of the owners is to pass down the cooking of Latin Cuisine from generation to generation.

The new restaurant at Montford Drive will operate under a soft opening for a week, with an official opening planned for July 26.
