SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV)- Summer is officially here and it is the perfect time to get out of the kitchen and let someone else do the cooking while you explore Savannah’s diverse food scene.

But, with so many options, where do we start?

Have no fear, James Beard 2023 judge and Food and Culture Journalist, Martina Yvette is here to help us out!

In fact, she will be joining us every Friday this summer with her recommendations of all things delectable and delicious!

Martina is also the host of “A Dash of That” and a contributor to the AJC’s Savannah Dining Guide.

She joins News 3 Kim Gusby on today’s Community Corner, to talk about today’s featured restaurant– “Kis Café”– a Black-owned and operated beignets and crepe shop, right here in the Hostess City.

Owners Mark and Monica Maze moved from New York to Savannah a few years ago after seeing an opportunity to bring French cuisine/ New Orleans flavor to the city.

Everything is cooked to order with an authentic taste by combining savory and sweet flavors.

Starting as a food truck in Starland Yard, Kis Café offers different services to bring the community together.

The café is located at 714 Mall Blvd, and is open Tuesday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

They can be reached at 912-246-6040. Martina can be found on Instagram, @a_dashofthat, or visit her website by clicking here.
