Savannah mayor to release top 10 most wanted list

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – With mounting concerns about gun violence in Savannah, Mayor Van Johnson says the city will be releasing a top 10 most wanted list.

Johnson says some people should be locked up who are not locked up.

Many suspects in recent violent crimes have either been out on bond or parole.

He added that this is a danger to everyone in the community, and something needs to be done.

“We have to make sure that the community knows who these individuals are,” Johnson said in a recent press conference, “and we have to get them off the streets. If they have been involved in violent activity before, the statistics show that they are more apt or more likely to participate in violent behavior again.”

The mayor says he hopes this list will bring awareness to ongoing criminal activity.
