    Third shooting in Savannah since July 4 leaves 16-year-old with "serious injuries"

    A Sunday shooting on the 3200 block of Florance Street left a 16-year-old male with "serious injuries," according to a Savannah Police Department post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

    The victim was transported to Memorial Health for treatment, according to the post. SPD officers responded to the shooting at about 2:15 p.m after a ShotSpotter notification.

    Anyone with information on the shooting is encouraged to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020

    Sunday's shooting marks the third in Savannah since July 4. One during the afternoon on July 4 resulted in "serious injuries" to an adult male, according to an SPD post.

    The other shooting occurred during the early hours of July 5 and resulted in a non-life-threatening injury, according to an SPD press release.
