    16-year-old gunshot victim dies, Savannah Police investigating

    The 16-year-old male who suffered “serious injuries” as a result of a July 7 shooting at 49th Street and Florance Street has died, according to a Savannah Police Department (SPD) press release.

    At around 2:30 p.m., officers responded to 49th and Florance Street based on a report of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim suffering from a serious gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Memorial Medical Center for treatment, and he later died.

    No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on the shooting is encouraged to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020.
