Savannah Police releases Top 10 Most Wanted list

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Savannah Police Department (SPD) has released a Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list following mounting concerns for violence in the city.

According to SPD, this list is as of July 16th, 2024.

Mayor Van Johnson made it clear weeks ago that he and city staff would no longer watch crime happen in the city, and it was time to do something about it.

“Public safety is a community effort, and we will do what we can do. We will do what we must do. But, we need our community to do what they can do and must do as well,” Johnson said. “Individuals who are engaged in violent activity – if we have our eyes on them, if they are behind bars… then hopefully our violent incidents will go down.”

The mayor is now asking the community to report any information that can help find these alleged fugitives.

“I am still a big fan of the Savannah Police Department – particularly in our clearance rate, how quickly they’ve been able to solve and produce arrests for violent events that have happened. But – they cannot do it and have not been able to do it without comprehensive, massive and collaborative community support,” he said.

Most notably, Ericque Street is wanted for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, relating to the mass shooting in May.

Others are being sought for similar charges; some for alleged crimes like robbery, entering auto, credit card fraud, aggravated stalking, and battery.

Johnson asks anyone who is on this list to turn themselves in now.

“Deal with it. Life happens, things happen… But go ahead. Get with your family and friends. Get you an attorney, and then walk into that police department and face the issues that you’re facing. That’s how you deal with it. You don’t let it be handled in the streets,” he said.

He says it is likely for criminals to participate in violent behavior again… once being released from prison or put out on bond or parole.

“And for you all that love some of these individuals on the list – and you should love them – don’t let them get caught up… go with them, and let’s go ahead and get this dealt with. All we want is a safer city,” Johnson said.
