SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – A free event for Disability Pride Month is being held at the King Frazier Student Center on the campus of Savannah State University.

This inaugural event will be hosted by Dr. Rita Livingston King and Dr. Candace Stafford. It will feature multiple activities, workshops, and presentations to offer valuable insights and practical knowledge from medical treatment experts and service providers. These individuals are working to achieve equity and social justice for those who suffer from physical and mental health disabilities.

Throughout the day, local organizations will be offering support and information about available services to people with disabilities.

This event will be highlighted by inspiring stories of resilience and achievement by those with disabilities. It will also give individuals with disabilities an opportunity to meet individuals who share their experiences and the challenges they face every day.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 27th, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is free to attend and a complimentary breakfast is provided.
