If you are looking to move to a new city, there is an option in Georgia where you could get paid to pick it as your landing spot.

Remote workers who chose to relocate to Columbus, located near the Alabama-Georgia border, are eligible for $5,000 cash and several non-cash incentives, totaling up to more than $7,000 in value.

    The criteria for eligibility includes:

    • Employed full-time and able to relocate while retaining their current position
    • Earn at least $75,000 annually
    • Live at least 75 miles outside the city limits of Columbus at the time of application for the program
    • Must relocate primary residence to Muscogee County within six months

The relocation incentive program is run by a partnership between MakeMyMove and Columbus 2025 , a regional economic growth and development group.

“With a focus on talent attraction and retention, we saw an opportunity to promote our community to those whowork remotely and can choose where they want to live,” Columbus 2025 Executive Director Tabetha Getz said in a press release. “Columbus has a lot to offer potential residents, including a vibrant downtown, world-class whitewater rafting, and a thriving arts and culture community.”

A committee of local residents will select those who are awarded the incentive, according to a Columbus 2025 press release. There is a one-year commitment to living in the city.
