Massive oak trees dripping in Spanish moss, quiet cobblestone streets and centuries-old mansions looming in the shadows set the stage for the spookiest season, where dark tourism is a daily occurrence. As you explore the city and all it has to offer during the day, here's what haunts await in and around Savannah at night.

Wicked South Haunted Forest in Pembroke

This Wicked South Haunted Forest located just outside of Savannah is open every weekend of the month following Oct. 18. After a brief delay due to the effects of Hurricane Helene, guests can go to 3001 Lawrence Church Road, to experience the fifth season of Wicked South Productions, which features a storyline about a traveling carnival group that disappeared mysteriously in the forest. Explore the abandoned camp and see for yourself what lies beyond the trees.

More information can be found wickedsouthproductions.com/about/ .

    Bonaventure Cemetery After Dark Fridays

Every weekend, starting Oct. 11, experience Savannah's only after-hours Bonaventure Cemetery tour with the "Bard of Bonaventure," Shannon Scott. Stories range from the present day back to the cemetery's plantation origins in 1753. The tour lasts two hours and guests receive a poster signed by Scott at the end.

Dr. Buzzard's Good Time Ghost Tour Presents America's Ghostliest City

Another tour by Scott combines history and mystery in "spine-tingling tales of the macabre and more." This tour is for mature audiences only and delves into ghost stories, paranormal encounters, murders, root magic and the occult.

Savannah Ghosts and Gravestones Trolley Tour

Featuring access to the Andrew Low House and River Street's Perkins and Sons Ship Chandlery, this tour is one of Savannah's most popular to hear tales of murder, mayhem and other mysterious happenings.
