    HHS Class of '24 top students honored for Excellence in Education

    Twenty-four members of the Hayward High School Class of 2024 who achieved the highest academic and co-curricular honors throughout their school career were honored at the annual Excellence in Education banquet at The Steakhouse & Lodge Wednesday, May 15.

    Each student invited an educator who has had a significant impact on their success. The students’ parents also attended, along with Supt. Craig Olson, Principal Doug Stark and Board of Education member Lynell Swenson.

    The students spoke of their activities during high school along with their higher education plans and how their favorite educator has influenced them. The honored students and their chosen educators are:

    Tyler Aubart, with technology teacher John Paine; Madilynn Bergschnieder, with mathematics teacher and Coach Orrin Botten; Kaitlyn Boss, with seventh grade paraprofessional Melinda Hoyos; Brooke Brennan, with math teacher Adrienne Shilling; Avery Chucka, with English teacher Jaime Krym; Samantha Diedrich, with English teacher Jaime Krym; Robert Egger, with his mother and art teacher Kelly Egger; Erin Ewert, with former cross-country running coach Sydney Ringheim; Mackenzie Forrester, with science teacher Susan Eytcheson;

    Bradey Gottwald, with football coach Noah LeBlanc; Jersey Hall, with English teacher Jaime Krym; Kendra Gunn with former middle school careers teacher Darlene Kirchdoerfer; Cassidy Judy, with her mother Shannon Judy; Emma Kuczenski, with science teacher Susan Eytcheson; Miles McCallum, with guidance counselor Kylah Eckes; Michael Nichols, with former guidance counselor Brett Morgan; Avery Poppe, with health and physical education teacher Kathryn Von Arb; Samuel Schmidt with English teacher Katie Pritchett; Lauren Sisco with social studies teacher Jon Weber; Nichols Struska, with business and information technology teacher Julie Thompson-Czub; Aiden Susedik, with English teacher Mike Anderson; Brock Titus, with business and information technology teacher Julie Thompson-Czub; Warren Thompson, with science teacher Davd Eckstrom; and Troy White, with instrumental music teacher and band director Eric Kringle.
