Hurricane harriers run at Rice Lake, Minneapolis

On Friday Sept. 20, The Hayward Hurricanes cross-country teams ran in the Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota Les Bolstad Golf Course, one of the largest meets in the country.

Running in the maroon division, the Hurricane boys finished 13th out of 36 teams and the Hurricane girls finished 23rd out of 34 teams.

Rice Lake meet

On Tuesday Sept. 17, the Hurricanes ran in the Rice Lake Invitational at the UWEC-Barron County campus.

The Hayward boys placed third out of 27 teams in the large school division, led by a ninth place finish from Ben Laird and 10th place finish from Evan McConnell.

The Hayward girls placed 10th out of 24 teams, paced by Lola Olsen.
