Sawyer County set new record for tourism in 2023
The Wisconsin Department of Tourism released 2023 economic impact data, showing Sawyer County tourism experienced a record-breaking 2023, generating $150 million and contributing to Wisconsin tourism’s historic $25 billion economic impact. Sawyer Dairy Breakfast to be held June 22
In celebration of June Dairy Month, a Sawyer County dairy breakfast will be hosted by Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin from 6:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday June 22 at the Sawyer County Fairgrounds, on Hwy. B three miles east of Hwy. 27. The menu will feature pancakes, blueberry pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, string cheese, ice cream, strawberries, whipped cream, soft-serve ice cream cones, milk, coffee and cranberry juice. The cost is $9 for guests ages 13 and older, $6 for ages 4-12, and free for ages three and under.

Sawyer County Wood Chop to feature top competitors
More than 20 world-class competitors including national and world champions will vie in the Sawyer County Wood Chop from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday June 21 during the Hayward Musky Festival. The venue will be the parking lot next to the City of Hayward fire hall on Dakota Avenue. The event is free and open to the public. The athletes will compete in chopping and sawing events plus the axe throwing target contest.
