ST. CLOUD — St. Cloud voters will decide between city council candidates Tami Calhoun, Hudda Ibrahim, incumbent George Hontos, Mark Johnson, Scott Brodeen and Omar Podi in the Nov. 5 general election

The six finalists survived Tuesday's primary election, which boasted a candidate field of 16 who were vying for three seats.

Two of the seats were vacated by at-large Councilmembers Jeff Goerger and Carol Lewis. Lewis left the position in hopes of becoming the next mayor, but she didn't advance to the general election. The third seat up for grabs is currently held by Hontos.

St. Cloud's Somali community is looking to increase its representation in city council, and both of their candidates, Ibrahim and Podi, advanced. From the trio of council candidates campaigning together, Brodeen advanced.
