    Sartell tells residents to ask door-to-door solicitors for permits to avoid fraud

    SARTELL — The Sartell Police Department released a statement on Facebook saying its received several door-knocking solicitation complaints.

    The department said solicitors must have a permit to door-knock within city limits and those looking to engage in such activity can fill out the proper paperwork at the police department.

    Sartell’s release said the department has already reached out to businesses that are not properly permitted. However, to protect residents from scamming attempts, the department is asking residents to ask solicitors for their permits. If a solicitor does not have one, Sartell police ask residents to call and inform the police department.
