    Paramount Center announces begins first half of the 2024-25 season

    The Paramount Center for the Arts has begun the first half of its 2024-2025 season, which will offer a mix of stage performances and music events.

    Executive director Gretchen Boulka said this year's season includes some programming that may be new to visitors, thanks to the theater's new director of performing arts, Jordyn Foss.

    "She's brought her own style and viewpoint on what would be exciting for our audiences to experience, so we've got some new shows that we've never had before," Boulka said.

    The Paramount Center concluded its run of "Into the Woods" Sunday. Next up, country music group Thompson Square on Sept. 27. On Monday, Sept. 30, St. Cloud State University's "Journey Across the World" event will take the stage.

    St. Cloud's Paramount announces part of its 2024-25 season

    In October, the theater will host the Great River Educational Arts Theatre's production of "Waitress," followed by its "Wizard of Oz" performance Nov. 22-Dec. 8.

    The Paramount will also offer Christmas-themed events in December, including a production of "The Nutcracker" and "One Christmas Night in Memphis."

    In addition to musicals, the first half of the season will include many visiting musicians, such as country singer RaeLynn, the Vienna Boys Choir and previous American Idol contestant Kris Allen.

    Great Theatre will return to end the first part of the season in April with "Mary Poppins" from April 11-27.

    This season, the Paramount will also offer more than 50 art classes and will host exhibits.

    "There's lots of things that we're also doing either out in the community or with community partners, so I definitely would encourage people to sort of look for us when they're out and about in the community, and also remember that the Paramount Center for the arts is a resource for the community," Boulka said.

    The Paramount Center for the Arts will announce the second half of its 2024-2025 season at the end of October.
