Serious Car Wreck: 2 Life Flights Required

Scioto County, Ohio

At around 7:30 am, members of Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a one-car accident near 9486 Lick Run-Lyra Rd.

Upon their arrival, they discovered that the vehicle was actually submerged in Pine Creek (just off the road). According to members on the scene, there were 2 occupants in the vehicle.

Members from the South Webster Volunteer Fire were activated. The firefighters were requested to assist with the water rescue of the 2 victims. Their EMS members were asked to set up a landing zone for 2 life flight helicopters.

The landing zone was established at Ashely Corner, just off Turkey Foot Road.

The volunteers were able to extract the 2 victims from the water.

They were both flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Names and conditions have not been released.
