Three From Wabash Valley Named To Indiana’s Top 250 List
Indianapolis, In. – IBJ Media the producers of The Indianapolis Business Journal, Inside Indiana Business and Indiana Lawyer have named three Wabash Valley residents to their third annual Business and Community Leaders top 250 list. The list represents public and private companies, law firms, universities, not-for-profits, government and community organizations. The three are President of Rose Hulman Institute of Technology Robert A. Coons, Greg Gibson president of Gibson Development and Paul Thrift president and CEO of Thompson Thrift Development. All three have been on the list before.

The Fourth of July in the Lakes of Four Seasons (LOFS) is a major event. There is a parade, food trucks, bouncy houses, and a fireworks show to end the night. This year, the day started as early as attendees arrived at the clubhouse to reserve their spot to watch the parade. There are golf carts and tents that go as far as the eye can see from West to North Lakeshore Drive.
Valparaiso University Faculty Helping Future Photographers and Capturing the Story of a Local Community
It is a busy time of year for professor Aimee Tomasek M.F.A., associate professor with Valparaiso University’s Communications and Visual Arts department. With fair season underway, Professor Tomasek can be found crisscrossing country roads, making her way to the Porter County fair as she embarks on their 15th year working with 4-H Club members and chronicling the Indiana agricultural scene. Professor Tomasek, lovingly known as Aimee within the livestock and project barns, has worked with 4-H participants, ages 9 to 19, teaching, mentoring and capturing memories. This long term documentary project captures a variety of 4-H projects and Tomasek hopes it will serve as a pictorial archive of the Porter Co. 4-H community for future generations.
Chicago police seek hammer-wielding burglary crew after 4 businesses targeted in under an hour
CHICAGO - The Chicago Police Department is seeking to identify the individuals who burglarized at least four businesses in under an hour on the North and Northwest Sides. In each incident, at least three offenders used a hammer to break the front glass door of the businesses to get inside.
Foxtrot Makes Moves to Reopen in Chicago Area
No reopening dates were listed, but the company told the Eater Chicago blog that more information should be available within days. News on Foxtrot's comeback arrives just months after the company abruptly closed down operations alongside the grocer Dom's Kitchen & Market, which joined forces with Foxtrot under the entity Outfox Hospitality in late 2023. The shutdown affected 33 Foxtrot locations and two Dom's grocery stores in the Chicago, Washington, D.C., Dallas and Austin, Texas, markets.
