Word from Linn County is: "Do you need some Sheep Thrillz? We have them for you!"

The proprietors of Wolston Farm just east of Scio announced that they will once again be hosting the annual sheepdog trial herding competition this year, beginning a 8 a.m. each morning Friday through Monday, July 12-15.

The Sheep Thrillz sheepdog trial herding competition features brilliant dogs, mostly border collies, and their handlers who demonstrate skills and teamwork while herding sheep (said to have minds of their own) through a complex course in a timely manner.

"There will be knowledgeable people on hand to answer questions, and a program will be available," said Wolston proprietor Raven OKeefe.

Admission is $5 per car, $2 per motorcycle and $10 per minibus; bicyclists enter free. There will be shade tents and porta potties on the premises, and spectators are advised to bring chairs. Polite pets on leash are welcome.

"As always, this will be a 'green' trial with recycling bins available but no garbage cans onsite, drinks and snacks for sale will be in recyclable or compostable containers," OKeefe stressed.

The trial field is just off Franklin Butte Road one mile east of Scio; follow road signs. For further information call 541-971-0372.
