Bibb escapee Johnifer Barnwell pleads guilty to escaping downtown Macon jail
MACON, Ga. — One of the men who escaped from the Bibb County jail back in October 2023 has pleaded guilty to escaping from the downtown Macon facility. Johnifer Barnwell admitted to the crimes against him in a Thursday afternoon hearing before U.S. District Court Judge C. Ashley Royal.
Man killed in Valdosta apartment shooting
VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - A man was killed in an early Thursday morning shooting in Valdosta. Around 3:30 a.m. on July 18, Valdosta police officers were called to the Park Chase Apartments to a report of a person being shot. Officers say when they got to the scene they found a 32-year-old man in the stairwell with a gunshot to his torso.
