SCOTT COUNTY, Iowa — A 43-year-old Iowa woman is set for a preliminary hearing in Scott County Court after Iowa State Patrol alleged she stole a semi-truck from a company that had fired her, according to court documents.

Angelic Eicke, of Hastings in Mills County, faces a felony charge of first-degree theft, court records say.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m. Monday, Iowa State Patrol was advised of a stolen semi-truck entering Iowa via Interstate 80 near LeClaire.

Eicke was driving a 2021 Freightliner semi on a public roadway, arrest affidavits say. Eicke “had been fired by the company (West Side Transport) while at their terminal in Glenwood, IL.”

After she was fired, ISP alleged she returned to the semi and drove away from the terminal. Eicke had been informed the semi was reported stolen but did not return the semi after numerous calls from the company, affidavits show.

Eicke, who was contacted by the company numerous times and refused to stop and return the semi, was stopped nearly 170 miles from the location from which the truck was stolen, according to affidavits.

The value of the semi is well over $10,000, according to affidavits.

Eicke was released on her own recognizance and is set for a preliminary hearing on July 5 in Scott County Court.
