A pedestrian was hit by a car Thursday night in Lafayette and suffers from several facial fractures, according to Lafayette Police Department. Traffic Investigators with the LPD responded to the scene of a major vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at around 10:18 p.m. in the 100 block of S. College Road.

UL Lafayette American Indian Scholarship
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will offer five new scholarships for incoming freshmen who are citizens of a federally recognized American Indian Tribe. Each scholarship, valued at $5,000, is available to first-time freshmen with a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA who are citizens of a federally recognized American Indian Tribe from any state. Applicants must be enrolled as full-time students and provide a copy of their Tribal Enrollment Card with their application.
